  • 1 tbsp olive oil For that beautiful sear and added richness.
  • to taste N/A Salt & cracked black pepper Essential for enhancing the natural flavors of the salmon.
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika Adds a subtle smokiness that elevates the dish.
  • 1 tsp garlic powder Brings depth and warmth.
  • 1 N/A green onion, chopped For garnish.
  • to taste N/A fresh cilantro or parsley, chopped Optional for added freshness.

Sauce Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup mayo A creamy and velvety base for the sauce.
  • 2 tbsp sweet chili sauce Introduces a delightful sweetness.
  • 1 tbsp sriracha A kick of spice, adjust to heat level.
  • 1 tbsp honey For an extra layer of sweetness.
  • 1 tsp rice vinegar or lime juice Adds acidity and brightness.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Pat the salmon fillets dry with a paper towel. Season generously with salt, cracked black pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika for maximum flavor.

Cooking

  • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Place the salmon skin-side down in the pan. Sear for about 4–5 minutes until the skin is crispy and golden.
  • Flip the salmon and cook for another 3–4 minutes until opaque on the inside but still tender and juicy.

Making the Sauce

  • Whisk together mayo, sweet chili sauce, sriracha, honey, and rice vinegar (or lime juice) in a small bowl to create the sauce.

Serving

  • Spoon or drizzle the sauce over the salmon and finish with chopped green onion and cilantro. Serve with rice, noodles, or roasted vegetables.

Notes

For extra crispiness, start the salmon skin-side down in a cold pan and turn the heat up. Letting the salmon rest for a minute before serving helps the juices redistribute.
