  • 1 clove garlic (minced) Adds aromatic notes

Garnishes

  • 1 cup sliced hot peppers For added spice

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Season the beef generously with salt and pepper.
  • Heat a frying pan over high heat and add the vegetable oil.
  • Once the oil is hot, sear the beef for about 1-2 minutes on each side.
  • Remove the beef from the pan and let it rest for 10 minutes.

Sauce Preparation

  • While the beef is resting, prepare the sauce by combining sake, rice vinegar, soy sauce, and water in a mixing bowl.
  • Add lemon or lime juice, grated ginger, and minced garlic. Stir to mix.

Serving

  • Thinly slice the rested beef at a 45-degree angle.
  • Arrange the sliced beef on a serving plate and drizzle the prepared sauce over the top.
  • Add garnishes with sliced hot peppers, fried onions, lime wedges, and sesame seeds.

Notes

To elevate your Beef Tataki, use a meat thermometer for perfect doneness at 130°F (54°C). Experiment with different marinades or cuts of beef for a unique twist.
