Preparation

  • Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Once the oil shimmers slightly, add the chopped onion and minced garlic. Sauté for about 3-4 minutes until softened and fragrant.
  • Add the ground beef to the pot, breaking it up with a spoon. Cook until browned, then drain excess fat.
  • Stir in BBQ sauce, smoked paprika, chili powder, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  • Pour in beef broth and whole milk. Bring to a simmer.

Cooking the Pasta

  • Add elbow macaroni to the pot and stir to combine. Cover and cook for 10-12 minutes until pasta is tender.
  • Once macaroni is cooked, stir in shredded cheddar cheese, mixing until melted and creamy.
