  • 2 cups elbow macaroni, cooked until al dente
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese, melted
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) condensed cream of mushroom soup creamy and smooth
  • 1 cup milk to enhance the creaminess
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped aromatic and sweet
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced for a burst of flavor
  • 1 tbsp olive oil for sautéing
  • to taste Salt and pepper to enhance flavors
  • 1 tsp dried Italian seasoning fragrant and herbaceous
  • 4 slices garlic bread crispy and delicious
  • 1 cup fresh garden salad for a refreshing contrast

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Cook the elbow macaroni according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Cooking

  • In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the finely chopped onion and garlic, sauté until translucent (approximately 3-4 minutes).
  • Add the ground beef, breaking it apart as it cooks, until it’s nicely browned. Season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
  • Pour in the cream of mushroom soup and milk, stirring well to combine. Let the mixture bubble gently for about 5 minutes.
  • Mix in the cooked macaroni, ensuring it is evenly coated with the sauce.
  • Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and sprinkle the melted cheddar cheese generously on top.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.

Serving

  • Prepare garlic bread as per package instructions and serve alongside a fresh garden salad.

Notes

For an extra layer of flavor, add some chopped bell peppers or mushrooms when sautéing the onions and garlic. If desired, top with breadcrumbs for a crispy finish.
