Preparation

  • Begin by preparing the broccoli. Steam it until tender if using fresh broccoli, then finely chop. For frozen broccoli, thaw and chop.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the chopped broccoli, mozzarella balls, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper, mixing thoroughly.
  • Set up your breading station with flour in one dish, beaten eggs in another, and breadcrumbs in a third.
  • Dip a mozzarella ball in the flour, shake off excess.
  • Dip the floured mozzarella ball into the beaten eggs, allowing excess to drip off, then roll in breadcrumbs. Repeat for all balls.

Cooking

  • In a deep frying pan, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until ready when a drop of batter sizzles.
  • Fry a few coated mozzarella balls until golden brown (2-3 minutes). Remove and place on a paper towel-lined plate.
  • Repeat until all balls are cooked. Serve hot.
