  • 3 cloves garlic, minced Adds depth to the sauce.
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch Used as a thickening agent.
  • 2 tablespoons cooled sauce from the crock pot after cooking Ensure a smooth consistency when thickening.
  • to taste fresh broccoli florets Adds color and nutrients.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Place beef in a crock pot, ensuring it’s evenly distributed at the bottom.
  • In a small bowl, combine consommé, soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, and garlic; whisk until well combined.
  • Pour the sauce over the beef, ensuring the beef is fully coated. Cook on low for 6-8 hours.
  • In a cup, stir cornstarch and cooled sauce until smooth, then add to the crock pot and stir well.
  • Add broccoli to the crock pot and stir to combine.
  • Cover and cook an additional 30 minutes on high.
  • Serve over hot cooked rice.

Notes

Let the beef marinate for a few hours before cooking for intensified flavor. For a spicy kick, add red pepper flakes or sliced jalapeños. Add broccoli later for firmer texture.
