  • 2 teaspoons instant coffee Aromatic instant coffee for rich flavor.
  • 2 tablespoons hot water To dissolve instant coffee.
  • 3 tablespoons sugar To sweeten the mousse.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Adds a hint of warmth.
  • 1 teaspoon gelatin powder To set the mousse.
  • 2 tablespoons cold water To bloom the gelatin.

Preparation

  • Dissolve the instant coffee in hot water and set aside to cool.
  • In a bowl, combine heavy cream, sugar, and vanilla extract and whip until soft peaks form.
  • Sprinkle gelatin over cold water and let bloom for 5 minutes, then melt over low heat.
  • Fold cooled coffee mixture into melted gelatin, then gently mix into whipped cream.
  • Spoon mixture into serving glasses and refrigerate for at least 2 hours until set.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider adding cocoa powder or chocolate shavings on top before serving. Store in the refrigerator for up to three days. Substitute instant coffee with espresso powder for a different twist.
