Dough and Filling

  • 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough For a flaky quality
  • 24 slices pepperoni Savory and rich
  • 4 half pieces low-moisture mozzarella string cheese For gooey melted cheese

Seasoning and Topping

  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning Adds aromatic flavors
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter Melted for brushing
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder For flavor enhancement
  • 1 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese For crispy topping

Dipping Sauce

  • 1 cup warm marinara or pizza sauce For serving

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Unroll the crescent dough and separate it into 8 triangles, laying them flat with the wide ends facing you.
  • Sprinkle each triangle with Italian seasoning.
  • Place three slices of pepperoni and a half-piece of mozzarella cheese near the wide end of each triangle.
  • Roll each crescent from the wide end to the tip, pinching the edges to seal.
  • In a small bowl, mix the melted butter with garlic powder, and brush this mixture over each roll.
  • Sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese.

Baking

  • Bake for about 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown.
  • Allow to cool for 2 minutes before serving with warm marinara or pizza sauce.

Notes

For extra flavor, add black olives or a sprinkle of crushed red pepper flakes inside. Brush the tops with an egg wash for a golden finish. These rolls can be frozen before baking; just add time when baking from frozen.
