Ingredients
  

For the dough

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour Add more flour if the dough is too sticky.
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons instant yeast
  • 1 teaspoon fine salt
  • 3/4 cup whole milk, warmed Warmed to about 105°F.
  • 2 large eggs At room temperature.
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted Slightly cooled.
  • 1 tablespoon finely grated orange zest Adds flavor.

For the filling

  • 5 tablespoons unsalted butter, very soft Should be creamy and spreadable.
  • 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar Adds deeper caramel notes.
  • 2 tablespoons finely grated orange zest Enhances flavor.
  • 1/3 cup orange marmalade Adds sweetness and stickiness.

For the glaze

  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 3 tablespoons fresh orange juice Adjust for consistency.
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 pinch fine salt
  • 1 teaspoon finely grated orange zest For an extra bright flavor.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a large mixer bowl, combine 4 cups of flour, sugar, instant yeast, and salt. Mix thoroughly.
  • Gradually add warmed milk, room-temperature eggs, melted butter, and orange zest, mixing until a soft dough forms. If sticky, add more flour.
  • Knead the dough for 6-8 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  • Cover the dough with a kitchen towel and let rise in a warm spot for about 1 ½ hours until doubled in size.

Filling

  • Prepare the filling by mixing soft butter, brown sugar, orange zest, and marmalade until creamy.

Assembly

  • Once the dough has risen, roll it out on a floured surface into a 16-by-12 inch rectangle.
  • Spread the filling mixture evenly over the dough, leaving a 1/2-inch border.
  • Roll the dough tightly from the long side and slice into 12 equal pieces.
  • Place rolls in a greased 9-by-13 inch baking pan and let rise for another 45-60 minutes.

Baking

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F. Bake for 22-26 minutes until golden brown.

Glazing

  • While rolls bake, whisk together powdered sugar, orange juice, melted butter, and salt until smooth.
  • Drizzle glaze over warm rolls after baking and let sit for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

Use fresh orange zest for the best flavor. If dough is too warm, chill it to make handling easier. These rolls are versatile for various occasions.
