Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the finely chopped onion and minced garlic. Sauté for about 2-3 minutes until softened and fragrant.
  • Add the ground meat, breaking it apart with a spatula or spoon. Cook until browned and fully cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Season with dried oregano, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  • Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface into a rectangle.
  • Spread the meat mixture evenly across the pastry, leaving a little space at the edges.
  • Sprinkle shredded cheese over the meat.
  • Roll the pastry, folding in the edges as you go. Brush the top with beaten egg.

Baking

  • Place the roll on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown and puffed up.
  • Allow to cool slightly before slicing into pieces. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.

Notes

Consider experimenting with fillings such as chicken or a mix of veggies. You can also make these rolls ahead of time and freeze them.
