  • 4 pieces hoagie rolls Soft yet sturdy, perfect for holding the filling.
  • 1 lb ribeye steak, thinly sliced Known for its incredible marbling and rich flavor.
  • 1 large onion, thinly sliced Adds a sweet, aromatic element.
  • 1 piece bell pepper, sliced Delivers a burst of color and sweetness.
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil For sautéing the vegetables.
  • 2 tablespoons butter For creaminess.
  • 1 cup provolone cheese, shredded Adds gooey texture.
  • 1 cup American cheese, shredded Brings extra creaminess.
  • 1/2 cup au jus Enhances flavor with each bite.
  • to taste none salt and pepper To season the steak.

Instructions
 

Cooking

  • Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add olive oil.
  • Sauté sliced onions and bell peppers until soft, about 5 minutes.
  • Remove the vegetables from the skillet and set them aside.
  • In the same skillet, melt butter and add thinly sliced ribeye steak, seasoned with salt and pepper. Cook for 3-4 minutes until browned.
  • Return sautéed onions and peppers to the skillet and mix well.
  • Toast the hoagie rolls until golden brown.
  • Stuff each hoagie roll with the steak and vegetable mixture.
  • Add provolone and American cheese on top, and drizzle with creamy au jus.
  • Serve immediately while hot.

Notes

For best results, slice your ribeye steak as thinly as possible and consider marinating it beforehand.
