Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, egg, breadcrumbs, finely chopped onion, minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  • Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it on a parchment-lined baking sheet.

Cooking

  • Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
  • Meanwhile, heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and sauté the sliced onions until caramelized.
  • Add sliced mushrooms to the skillet and cook until softened.
  • Sprinkle flour over the mixture and stir to combine.
  • Gradually pour in the beef broth, stirring continuously until thickened.
  • Stir in heavy cream and let the gravy simmer until velvety.
  • Once the meatloaf is done, let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing.

Serving

  • Serve slices of meatloaf over creamy mashed potatoes, topped with mushroom gravy, and garnished with fresh parsley.

Notes

For extra flavor, add a splash of gravy to the meatloaf mixture before baking. Substitute mushrooms for sautéed spinach or bell peppers if desired. Ensure meat reaches proper internal temperature for safe consumption. Store leftovers in airtight container for up to 3 days.
