For the Steaks

  • 2 pieces ribeye steaks Well-marbled and packed with flavor.
  • 4 cloves garlic Minced for intense flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary Chopped for earthiness.
  • 1 tablespoon fresh thyme Adds fragrant freshness.
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter Enhances flavor.
  • Salt and pepper To season.

For the Potatoes

  • 4 medium-sized potatoes Diced into cubes.
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil For sautéing.
  • Fresh parsley Optional, for garnish.

Preparation

  • Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and drizzle in olive oil.
  • Add diced potatoes in a single layer and cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally until they turn golden and crispy.
  • Remove potatoes from the skillet and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter.
  • Season both sides of the ribeye steaks with salt and pepper, then add to the skillet.
  • Cook for 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare.
  • Add minced garlic, rosemary, and thyme to the skillet while the steaks cook, basting them with the melted butter.
  • Remove steaks and let them rest for a few minutes.
  • Return the crispy potatoes to the skillet and toss them in the garlic butter for 2-3 minutes.
  • Slice the steak against the grain and serve with the garlic butter potatoes, garnished with fresh parsley.

Notes

Let your ribeye steaks come to room temperature for about 30 minutes before cooking. Use a cast-iron skillet for the best heat retention and sear.
